Nothing Is As It Seems

Nothing Is As It Seems

Early one morning in the late 1980s, I was drinking coffee and having breakfast at the local fast food restaurant (the one with the golden arches). Suddenly, I heard a loud voice! It said “I am speaking to you telepathically, but I can also speak to you with my mouth.” Startled, I quickly looked around to see if anyone else had heard it. Obviously, they hadn’t. As I turned and looked directly behind me, I saw a man drinking coffee, about six feet from where I was sitting. He was wearing a faded red T-shirt, had a large pot belly, and looked as though he were taking a break from his truck driving job. I noticed there were about a dozen of those little creamers they give you for your coffee, setting on his table.

Something very unusual had just happened, and I thought to myself, Could it have been the voice of the man just behind me? It seemed implausible. I stood up, walked out the front door, went around to the side door, and then walked back into the restaurant. From that vantage point I could see everyone in the dining room, but I still couldn’t figure out who the voice had come from. When I returned to my seat, I decided it must have been the person I had thought was a truck driver. I turned again to look at him, but found he was no longer there. Had he walked out the door? Or, had he simply vanished? I may never know the answer to those questions. Later on, I realized he was the man that I have come to know as Babaji. For whatever reason, for me and for others I’ve talked to who have had similar experiences, he uses a hit-and-run tactic and never stops to explain who he really is. A few years earlier, I had read about him in Yogananda’s book, Autobiography of a Yogi. It was published in 1946 and has remained a popular classic to this day. Yogananda was born in the late 1800s and was one of the first Indian saints to come to the United States to lecture and teach the art of meditation.

There is much confusion around what spirituality actually is. To some, it may conjure up visions of black magic, voodoo, or even animal sacrifices. Some ancient tribes are known to have practiced human sacrifices in the name of religion. These rituals are, of course, repulsive. Words like God and spirit have not faired much better. Down through the ages, they have become distorted and have lost much of their meaning. We have contemporary words like new age or metaphysical which are used to label spirituality, but they are inadequate as well. In his best-selling book, The Power of Now, Eckhart Tolle uses the word “presence,” instead of God and spirit. One of the reasons for so much confusion is that words cannot adequately describe the force we call God, presence, or spirit. Words are simply inadequate.

No doubt, you may have felt the subtle breeze of the unknown and perhaps unknowable presence, entering into your life. If you are like I was, you may not recognize that you are being ever so gently turned into the “winds of change.” The reason for the subtlety is that ego always resists change and a forceful shove would bring up a lot of its resistance. There are exceptions of course. Some people who are about to take this step, will feel like they are being pushed off a cliff and will not survive. You may not be aware of how much your ego resists, but it always resists change. I am going to be talking a lot about my own experiences, not so much because they may be similar to the ones you will have, although they well might be. Many of them are very unusual and will stretch the boundaries of your beliefs about the nature of reality, as they did for me. As you begin to explore the reality of your soul and Higher Nature, you will find that nothing is as it seems.

So, what are you looking for and why are you looking for it? Dissatisfaction is the reason you or anyone else looks for change, and in this regard, dissatisfaction is your greatest ally. Without it, why would you want to alter your course? You wouldn’t. For an alcoholic who finds himself passed out and face down in a dark alley, it is about physical survival. He will die if he doesn’t change his ways. For you, it may be less dramatic, but nevertheless, you are looking in a different direction than you would normally look for fulfillment and satisfaction.

The reasons for wanting to take a different direction with your life may vary from person to person, but you know in your heart that you have been lied to all of your life, and you want to know what the “truth” actually is. Everyone eventually comes to this point in one lifetime or another. You are at that point now, or you wouldn’t be where you are, right now, reading this.

Many of you have been involved in religion, but found it to be stifling. You feel the need to look for something less confining. While there is wisdom in Christianity and other religions, virtually all of them have lost their way. They have become distorted through dogma and misinterpretation of the original message. Truth rarely survives the onslaught of time.

Henry David Thoreau said that the masses of men lead lives of quiet desperation. Buddha said that life is suffering. The mystery of life persists. We come and we go and for those few short years we are here, we struggle to survive and find our way. The meaning of life remains obscure.

There are two types of people who will be drawn to this information: those who have become curious and have one toe in the waters of change, and those who have read books on the matter and are perhaps already meditating or doing some other practices. You will be shown exactly what you need to further your growth, wherever you are on your journey. You may read this for pure entertainment and that’s okay, but I’m not interested in having you as a student if you are not committed to finding truth.

Most people struggle and suffer throughout life, knowing all along that it doesn’t have to be that way. Many become addicted to struggle, and like any addiction, it defines their lives. If you have become indoctrinated by religion, you may even believe suffering makes you a better person.

Many look to the physical world for fulfillment, yet as you look around you’ll find few, if any, who have found lasting peace or fulfillment in the material world. It may look like some have. Business tycoons and rock stars are paraded before us on the nightly talk shows as examples of the good life, but many of them succumb to drugs and alcohol. Their relationships don’t work, and they are miserable, yet many still seek fulfillment in “things.” You know that none of this will bring you what you really desire, but you might be drawn to try “just one more time” to find what you are looking for, in the “stuff” the world has to offer. You may think a new relationship will help, a bigger house, a new car, maybe even a sports car. A better education might just do the trick. You go back to school to update your education and skills, and then join the rat race of the corporate world, only to discover that striving creates a lot more stress than you had bargained for. Many who fall down this rabbit hole are unable to climb back up, and will succumb to a lifetime of struggle and suffering.

Most wealthy people will try to increase their wealth in order to enhance their feeling of security. This often leads to a never-ending cycle of accumulating more “things.” There is even a cultural expression that speaks to this: “the one who dies with the most toys wins.” Those who think this way are truly lost.

My own search for the meaning of life was the result of two decades of success and subsequent failures. I have always been an entrepreneur. By my late twenties I was successful in business, however by my early thirties I lost all that I had achieved. So, I hunkered down and found a “regular” job. Within a couple of years I found a new avenue for my entrepreneurial flair and I became successful once more. Then, guess what happened? I lost it all again. By this time I had married and had a family to support. I was devastated by my losses and was very concerned for the security of my family. I began to experience a deep sense of insecurity, anxiety, and even depression. Of course those feelings had been there since early childhood, but they had been covered over by keeping busy, and of course, denial. One of the reasons everyone feels so much insecurity is that ego is fear-based. Consequently, most people feel uneasy and insecure. Can we live a life of peace and fulfillment without the anxiety that everyone experiences? The answer to that question is yes. Just keep on reading and you will discover how.

Because of my business failures and nagging anxieties, I decided to try psychotherapy as an avenue for exploring the reasons behind them. By that time, I had become addicted to prescription drugs and was drinking too much. While in therapy I stopped drinking and taking drugs, and my anxieties diminished, but they didn’t entirely disappear. The therapist explained that my anxieties were my ally, because they created the desire for a deeper exploration of who I was and what made me tick. Of course I didn’t really believe him at the time. Most people are looking for a “quick fix,” as I was. It can take years to unravel psychological issues that were acquired in early childhood. If they are not cleared, they simply keep attracting their own likeness and drawing experiences that reinforce them. You can see this in your parents and other people around you. As they get older, they become more controlling, rigid, and fearful. We tend to see this as normal, but it isn’t.

After several years, the therapist began to talk to me about what he called the “spirit self.” I don’t recall exactly what he said, but he gave me a cassette with music by Steve Halpern. Toward the end of the cassette, there were instructions on how to “dialogue with my soul.” Dialoging with my soul was a little out of reach for me at the time, but it opened the door for what was about to come. Psychology is a statistical science, and my therapist viewed himself as a scientist. This was quite a leap for a Stanford University graduate who had earned his PhD in the 1950s. Of course, nowadays, there a lot of people who communicate with discarnate souls.

As I progressed in therapy, I gained insight into how I responded to people and life situations. There were subtle shifts, but the underlying anxiety and stress did not abate; even after many years of therapy, they still persisted. I recently read a magazine article suggesting that stress is just as detrimental to your health as smoking. The time I spent in therapy turned out to be very beneficial. At that time, therapy was a mental process; it’s now become more body and feeling oriented. The reason for this is that you actually suppress your feelings, not your thoughts.

My turn into the wind started in my forties. Prior to that, my entire focus had been on the “outer world” and how to make a buck. My attention was totally on the big three—sex, money, and power. Isn’t that what all young men want? Though fame and power over others was never important to me, I certainly wanted money, not just a little, but a lot of it. The same went for sex!

Most people think that having a lot of money will give them the security they desire, yet most never feel secure, no matter how much money they have. What you are really looking for is peace and fulfillment; it cannot be found in the accumulation of money and things. The hole in your heart is caused by not receiving enough love as a child and in not knowing who you are. It can never be filled by acquiring more “stuff.”

Some people are incapable of turning inward, even for a moment. A certain amount of personal evolution is required before you can make that turn. It is the maturity of the individual’s soul that makes it possible. This maturity is usually the result of having many lifetimes here on earth, but the time it takes for that kind of maturation is becoming shorter, because the energies here on earth are shifting to a higher frequency. Ego can never become mature enough to make this transition. Nor, does it actually want to. It’s the individual soul that wants to make this transformation. The ego is too busy pretending to be in control of your life and chasing after the “big three.” You can pat yourself on the back for being mature enough to read and inquire into this subject. You draw this kind of material to you when you are ready to hear the message and not one moment sooner. If you were not capable of understanding and integrating this information, why would you attract it to yourself? You wouldn’t. It’s like the proverbial adage “when the student is ready, the teacher will appear.”

The idea that you attract whatever you experience may be new to you. The Law of Attraction says like attracts unto itself. This means that whatever thoughts, ideas, and beliefs you hold in your mind (the good, the bad and the ugly), will attract people and experiences into your life that will reflect them back to you. Even feelings will attract their own likeness. This is hard for many to accept and you may even think it’s not true. Let’s consider for a moment, the possibility that’s it’s not true. The world view fits nicely into the idea that we are all victims of chance and external forces; that we are all hapless victims.

Laws are broken and crimes are committed every fifteen seconds here in the United States. So, how do those in authority respond? By spending more money, hiring more police, and creating more laws. At the same time, individual citizens are installing burglar alarms and are arming themselves. It’s obvious that none of these solutions are making us more secure. All of the news programs, talk shows, political pundits, politicians, and everyone with a microphone are claiming that we are all victims of something. It looks like nothing is working, that the world is out of control and that no matter how hard we try, nothing changes for the better. When was the last time you heard a politician or anyone in authority, take responsibility for their own actions?

Ultimately, it is you and only you who is responsible for everything you experience. This may be hard for you to swallow. It is one of the most mysterious and misunderstood aspects of life.

There is no way you can change the “outer” world. You have already tried that with your spouse, relationship, kids, and friends and have been totally unsuccessful. You have to change your “inner” programming before you can stop attracting what you don’t want into your life. But nothing will change if you continue to accept the world view that we are all victims.

Perhaps you have heard this before. So, why are you hearing it again? Because as they say, you didn’t really get it when you heard it before. You may have given it lip service and even nodded your head in agreement, but you are still not living your life as though you were the only one responsible for it. You can, however, regain authority over your life. So, until you do get it and the message is integrated into your psyche, you will keep on reading and hearing about how you and only you create and attract absolutely everything you experience. It is one of the most mysterious and misunderstood aspects of life.

What I am saying to you is supported by quantum physics. John Wheeler, a renowned quantum physicist, says “there is no out there, out there.” In other words, there isn’t anyone “out there” who can do anything to you. It’s all just one big reflection of your own inner programming.

I made my initial exploration into this concept some thirty years ago, and even now, every once in awhile, I catch myself playing the “blame game.” It takes persistence to change your beliefs. You may find it perplexing and difficult to actually live this way, but that’s only because your ego doesn’t want to accept this idea as being true. It’s like a bulldog. Once it bites into something, it doesn’t want to let go of it. There is also a collective belief in victimization at work here; it permeates the energy of our culture and the world at large. Can you imagine how the world would look if governments and people took full responsibility for their actions and for what they create?

The concept that everything is energy was first put forth by Dr. Albert Einstein, early in the twentieth century in his famous equation E=Mc2. Why is this important? Because you are a complex structure of overlapping fields of energy. The only way to create permanent change is to raise the frequency of those fields. There is no other way to do this. Those energy fields make you human and conscious; they create awareness, intuition, creativity, and perception. Only humans have those qualities and the ability to choose how we are going to use them.

As you explore, acknowledge, and embrace the idea that you are essentially an energy structure, you will open up to the possibility that you can intentionally enhance and raise the frequency of those fields. An interesting fact is that energy cannot be destroyed. It can only be transformed.

There are many energy practices you can use to integrate higher frequencies into your own energies, but the simplest approach is often the most useful. A number of techniques will be presented in this blog. That said, as you begin to raise the frequencies of who you are, you will actually change your energy signature. You may find that as you grow and evolve, there will be certain people you feel uncomfortable being around. You may think that it’s the words they speak, or perhaps something about their personality, but what is really going on, is that they are not resonating with your energies. You will tend to repel those energies you no longer resonate with, and those who don’t keep up with you energetically may be excluded from your life. You may be wondering if you will risk pushing family members away, perhaps even your children. The answer to this is that you will always have a choice in this regard. Often, in a family, one person leads the way and becomes a model for the rest of the family.

You have likely noticed I’ve suggested we have more than one lifetime. You may be uncertain about this idea, but I am convinced that we have many lifetimes. One of the reasons for this is because I remember some of them, especially the last one.

One Saturday morning a number of years ago, I decided to take a trip to McMinnville, Oregon, where a friend of mine was putting on a channeling event in a local bookstore. This was something new to me and I was curious about it. McMinnville is about 200 miles south of Seattle, where I lived at the time, and 40 miles southwest of Portland, Oregon.

McMinnville was a sleepy little town. It had been built around the turn of the twentieth century. Life centered around a main street consisting of hotels, boarding houses, and other businesses. Historically, McMinnville was founded by William T. Newby, who had traveled to Oregon from McMinnville, Tennessee on the first wagon train, during the Great Migration of 1843. The town was established by 1882, with a building boom occurring around the turn of the twentieth century. Many of the original buildings are still intact today.

The area around McMinnville is dotted with picturesque vineyards and colorful fields of blooming clover during the summertime. Another point of interest is the Evergreen Aviation Museum, housing the Spruce Goose, the world’s largest propeller-driven airplane. It was designed and built by the famous aviator and eccentric billionaire, Howard Hughes. Constructed completely from wood due to wartime raw material shortages, it made its only flight in 1947.

After I arrived in town, I decided to take a stroll down the main street. As I walked past an old, turn-of-the-century building, I glanced up a stairway leading to the second floor. I had an immediate reaction. I began to feel strange and uneasy. I felt like I was in the right place, but at the wrong time. Suddenly I became aware that I had actually built that building. Wow! Instantly, I had been propelled back in time to when I had worked as a building contractor in McMinnville. My name was John and I had migrated to McMinnville from Montana in the early 1900’s to become involved in the West Coast building boom. I was a big man, stoop shouldered, drank too much, and was a philanderer. Walking on, I continued to feel disoriented and uncomfortable. I returned to the bookstore a little later to observe what was going on, but the feeling of timelessness stayed with me. Later that night I had dinner with my friend and talked about what I had experienced. She said that she had a similar experience.

Driving out of town the next morning, I noticed a large, old house that was about to be torn down. I remembered living in it. Reflecting back on the experience, I realize I was experiencing a “time warp.” It was like having one foot in the present and the other in the past. I have not been back to McMinnville since that time, but I intend to return sometime in the future to see if I can acquire more information about that lifetime. According to quantum physics, time does not actually exist. Time is hard-wired into our brains so that we can have a linear experience here on earth, but it’s really just an “illusion.”

All of the major religions--Buddhism, Hinduism, and the Muslim religion, speak of reincarnation. Christianity talked about it until it was taken out of The Bible by the church, at the Second Council of Constantinople in 553 A.D. The reason the church purged it, was because they wanted people to focus on the “here and now” and not be distracted by the possibility of redemption in another lifetime. This of course, gave the priests more control over their subjects.

In about 500 B.C., the Greeks began to separate spirit from matter in their writings, and that idea has been handed down to us since then. One of the first things the Bible speaks of in Genesis, is man’s “fall from grace,” or the “separation of spirit from matter.” It is where God forbade Adam and Eve to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. But having free will, they went right ahead and ate that forbidden fruit.

The concept that spirit and matter are separate has become a belief, therefore a fact, in modern cultures. All spiritual teachings attempt to heal this split, but few are successful. The mind is incapable of repairing this division. The problems created by mind cannot be repaired by the mind. Thought and thinking do not have any affect on belief.

Essentially, all growth is the result of the re-integration of spirit with matter. The belief that we are separate from our Higher Nature lies at the heart of all suffering and conflict in the world we live in. All of the pain, despair, scarcity, and starvation, occur because of this belief.

This is the question you must ask yourself: Is this the time and place for me to begin re-integration? Perhaps at this moment you might not realize what you are getting yourself into. It may seem a little too esoteric or “woo woo” for your taste, especially if you haven’t been exposed to these ideas before, but hold on! Before you acquiesce to your ego’s resistance to change (and that’s exactly what it is), give yourself some time to become familiar with the language and ideas you are being exposed to. You will become comfortable with them while on this journey.

Ego despises and fears change because it sees it as annihilation. Even the slightest change will bring up ego’s fear of death. It sees its job as being the guardian of the “status quo.” You may think you embrace change, but any attempt to change will always bring up ego’s fear for its survival. The strategies ego comes up with to keep you from altering your course will be very clever and creative. Everyone who “turns into the wind,” fights this battle. Whether you win or lose, depends on how well you cope with your ego’s resistance to change.

At this point in your life, ego will still see change as loss. Eckhart Tolle says, if you live in the present moment, or the “now,” you will no longer experience loss. There are very few people who live in the present all of the time. It is the ultimate experience, but for now, settle for less suffering and struggling. If you take the advice given here, you may indeed stop suffering and struggling, and will experience peace and fulfillment.

My purpose is to show you how to raise the frequencies of those overlapping fields of energy, and how doing so will start your re-integration with your Higher Nature. It vibrates at a higher frequency than your ego and mind. As you apply these principles and raise the frequencies of your energy systems, at some point you will go on “auto pilot.” You will be unable to stop growing and evolving. You may occasionally experience some resistance coming from your ego, but you will be able to handle it easily. It’s like learning to drive an automobile. Once you learn to drive in your neighborhood and become comfortable with your skills, you learn to drive on more challenging roads. Finally, you’ll learn to drive on the freeway and discover that you must be vigilant at all times. Or, you will crash. Vigilance is the key to growth and change. Otherwise, your ego will jump right back into the driver’s seat and take over once again. It will say to you, “Let’s take a little time off from all this integration stuff. Let’s just take a break.” Two years down the road, you find you are right back where you started from, and give up entirely. This is exactly what your ego wanted you to do. You lose!

Commitment is the only thing that has any influence over your ego’s resistance. It is not totally stupid. Sometimes your ego is just testing to see if you are truly committed to this course. If you are, it will relent, but it will be waiting just around the corner for another chance to test you.

The Truth is Simple

From The Mouth of God:
The Truth is Simple

An Interview with Richard Doré for the New Times, November 1998
by Scott Parshall

original article here

Richard Doré is a spiritual man. For the past two decades, he has devoted his life to helping people understand their true spiritual nature. Locally and abroad, he has provided group workshops and personal consultations for people seeking spiritual growth. I interviewed Richard last year (for The New Times, October 1997) when he began teaching a process for opening an energy center known as the Mouth of God.

This is the second time I have interviewed him, and the more often I speak with him, the more I suspect he is enlightened. His words are simple, and his understanding of the truth is unquestionable. These qualities are most apparent in his third book, From the Mouth of God. The book is brand new, but its message is eternal: The truth is simple and available to us all.

Scott: What is the Mouth of God?

Richard: The Mouth of God is a subtle energy center, like a chakra. It’s at the base of the skull on the back of the head. It brings higher spiritual energies into your body.

Scott: Is this book about the Mouth of God?

Richard: There is a chapter on the Mouth of God, simply because I wanted to bridge what I consider the most basic spiritual concepts with the more advanced spiritual concepts, and that particular center is the most advanced center we have in our energetic bodies. It’s actually just a small part of the book.

Scott: One of the most appealing things about your book is how simple your words are. I was surprised at how much truthful information is in your book, stated simply. Why did you write the book?

Richard: I wrote the book for several reasons. One is that it took me two decades to discover that truth is, basically, simple. There are some basic, fundamental principles that we can all live by, and if you do live by them your life will work; it has to work. If your life is difficult and does not flow smoothly, it’s because you’re violating those basic principles, whether that is because you don’t know them or simply have forgotten them. I also wrote it because it came to me in meditation that the book needed to be written. The more advanced work I do, the more I realize that we all need to get back to something basic.

Scott: One of those basic truths in your book regards our autonomous nature. You say one of the biggest obstacles for individuals is that people continually blame others for their problems.

Richard: That’s what the culture teaches, that there is somebody out there doing something to us. When you turn on the television, you see that everybody is a victim, as though somebody can do something to you. The truth is that there is nobody out there who can do anything to you. It all comes from within. The outer world is just a reflection of your inner world. We’ve all probably heard that a thousand times before, but it takes that many times before we realize that, yes, it’s true. It is a fundamental truth that the only experiences we have are those experiences that come out of our subconscious and are presented to us every day of our lives.

Scott: Would you say that is the single largest obstacle for people?

Richard: That’s a big one, but there are other obstacles, of course. All these obstacles come out of our conditioning. For one thing, we’re conditioned to think that we can control our reality. In fact, there’s a chapter in my book called "Natural Order" that addresses this. We think that if we put enough effort into something we can get control of it. Government puts laws on top of laws in an effort to gain control, yet nothing gets better. You simply cannot control anything. That is absolutely an illusion. Conditions change out of raising our consciousness, raising the level of perception we have, not out of control, laws, rules, and those kinds of things.

Scott: In the chapter, "Relationships," you state that the most important relationship a person has is his or her relationship with God.

Richard: That’s the only relationship we have. We think we have relationships with others, but we don’t. What shows up in our relationships with others is really a reflection of how we feel about God. That’s kind of a difficult concept to get, because we see others in our lives, but those others represent our own inner conflict, or lack of inner conflict, whichever way it may go.

Scott: Your book says we live in a polar world, and that judgment creates imbalance. Tell me what the Neutral Zone is.

Richard: That’s the place in the exact center, between negative and positive polarities, between cause and effect. When you’re in that center, you’re balanced, and you’re in a place where things work for you. It is simply the easiest place to be. It’s where information comes through, it’s where intuition comes in, it’s where God speaks to you. It’s where you’re simply balanced and functioning with ease.

Scott: In one chapter, titled "Talking With God," you speak of how the universe and God speak to us through any number of ways. How much of a person’s outer experience do you think is symbolic communication from God?

Richard: All of your experience is symbolic, really. God can speak to you directly if you’re open to it, but most people find that difficult. They don’t believe the voice when they hear it; they think it’s their own mind. God also speaks to you through others. Anybody can look at something that happens in their life and receive a message if they are open to it. The universe is one system, one relative field, and nobody is outside of that system.

Scott: What do you think is the most important thing people need to learn?

Richard: I think it goes back to what I was just saying: God is always talking to you; the question is, are you listening? The universe is always guiding you in one way or another. People think of this as guides, or masters, or devas, but it is God. Listening is the most critical skill of all. That is the opposite of control and forcing. You simply cannot force things to happen.

Scott: In the chapter, "Purpose," you state that everyone has a purpose, and that once you find your purpose, your life will flow effortlessly. I think a lot of people have the misconception that once you find your purpose, you’ll be wealthy.

Richard: You might be, but chances are you won’t. Most people didn’t come here to be one of the super-wealthy people on this planet. They came here to remember who they are, and that’s the most important thing. Everyone came here with a purpose, or a contract, something your soul wants to accomplish in this life, and it can be almost anything. Your purpose will always provide you with comfort and the things you need. It will fulfill you in this lifetime.

Scott: One of the chapters is devoted to the subject of money. What do you think is people’s most popular misconception about money?

Richard: That it comes out of hard work and effort, being smart, or having a good education. It doesn’t come from any of that. It really comes out of that place I call the Neutral Zone, because money comes out of flow; it flows through you. When you’re struggling, controlling, efforting, you block that flow. We talked about purpose, and if you’re following your purpose you’ll be able to live comfortably, whatever that means to you. Your purpose and your financial support can only come to you out of flow. It simply will not come to you out of struggle. If there’s a lack in your life, there’s something wrong with the system you’re living by. You are one system. Money is not separate from any other part of your life; it is all one.

Scott: Why is it so hard for people to have faith and trust that they are safe and always will be?

Richard: It goes back to what the culture calls the work ethic, which is the belief that somehow you are rewarded for struggling, for effort, for doing it the hard way. The culture teaches that we’re not safe, that our survival is in doubt. We all lock our doors. We’re taught that there is not enough of anything: There’s not enough food, there’s not enough love, there’s not enough money. We’re taught survival within a system of scarcity. That puts people into fear, and things become scarce because you believe it to be so. This may be the problem with our society: that we believe we are in jeopardy. We believe life isn’t about ease, it isn’t about love, it isn’t about flow; it’s a harsh, cold world out there.
It’s out of your beliefs that you manifest, and if you believe, you can’t trust life, or God; you will be stuck living out of fear. You have to reestablish your spiritual connection and realize that our cultural conditioning simply isn’t based on reality. God is always with us; you are not suffering, you are not alone, and nothing can really harm you.

Scott: Is there anything else that you would like to say?

Richard: Yes. If you read as far as the last chapter, you’ll find that it’s all about commitment. That is where it really starts, and that is where it ends. It’s easy to think you’re committed, but commitment is something that needs to be reinstated constantly. Probably every person who reads this will say to themselves, "I’m committed to spiritual growth." That commitment needs to be reinforced constantly, because we are always changing, we are always growing, and you always have to recommit and get back to the basics.

Scott: So if people start the book, you’d like them to commit to finishing it.

Richard: Yes. I’d like them to commit to staying conscious, to being aware of their own thinking. We all get distracted and pushed off the path by our daily activities. Things stop working for us in the way that we think they should, and that’s essentially because we are off of the basics; we have missed it again. When you’ve been at this for two decades, sometimes you think you know all there is to know. The point is, do you live what you know, or do you just know it? I advise people to meditate, contemplate, and do that kind of spiritual work, but that’s only part of it. The most difficult thing, yet the most important, is to live the basics, to live the simple truth that we all know exists.

Opening the Mouth of God

Opening the Mouth of God:

an interview with Richard Doré for the New Times, October 1997
by Scott Parshall

original article here

Richard Doré is a true mystic and teacher. His two books, Creating Your Light Body and Ancient Wisdom, are filled with inspiring channeled information and instruction for activating one’s light body and working with ascension energies. For several years, he has taught workshops centered on those teachings from his books, as well as incorporating powerful Vedic mantras he received while in Thailand.

More recently, the focus of his teaching has shifted. As Richard explains in my interview with him, he has been led to another key for unlocking our spirituality: a powerful process by which individuals can consciously inhabit the energy of Source Within each of us is a divine light; imagine if that spark of God was ignited! Richard describes what sounds to me like our lifeline to the universe as he talks with me about the Mouth of God.

Scott: What is the Mouth of God?

Richard: It's an energy center; probably the most important energy center we have. It's at the base of the head, where the medulla oblongata is, and its function is different from the other chakras because it's the only chakra that induces energy. The rest of the chakras induce energy, but they also transmit energy and store energy. The Mouth of God is an opening by which energy comes in only.

Scott: I have always heard that we have seven chakras in our physical body. Are you saying we have eight?

Richard: I'm saying that this chakra maybe has no number. All of your chakras are in the etheric body. I don't know how you would relate it to the seven physical chakras. In a sense it's part of the spiritual system, not so significantly related to the properties of the physical body. It is in fact related to the pineal and the pituitary. When energy induces into the Mouth of God, it goes directly through the pineal, through the pituitary, and into the heart center.

Scott: Is this energy center something that's active now, in all people?

Richard: Yes. It's functioning in some way, or you wouldn't be here; you could not be here. Obviously it's not wide open, or people would be advancing at a much faster rate.

Scott: Where did you learn about the Mouth of God?

Richard: I was recently taught how to activate the Mouth of God in other people by a personwho lives as a recluse in New Mexico. His name is Lorenzo, and he was given this information by the being we know as Simon Peter. Lorenzo was actually given this information a number of years ago, but for whatever reason he has not done much with it until now. It was one of those synchronistic events for me: I went to a one-day workshop, yet I wasn't really sure why I was there because it was nothing new to me and there were no exciting activities planned. I just felt compelled to be there. The friend of mine holding the workshop had met Lorenzo and told me about the Mouth of God process. Again, I felt very compelled to get in touch with Lorenzo. When I did, I found out he was going to be teaching facilitators, so I made the trip. Lorenzo took me through the process and activated my Mouth of God; then he gave me an initiation into the teaching aspect so that I am now a teacher of that process as well.

Scott: What was your own experience with the activation?

Richard: Lots of experiences. One was a sense of unity, a tremendous sense of expansion -- a connection to the spiritual realm, much stronger and more constant. It seems to be with me all the time as opposed to just when I'm meditating. Sometimes it's very subtle and sometimes it's very, very powerful.

After the first activation, I woke up in the middle of the night and it felt like there was somebody with a hand inside my head, squeezing it. I don't know how to explain it other than that. When you take the activation you can feel the energy rush in. It's like opening a dam, or a floodgate, and the energy simply rushes in. Of course it's different for everybody, but typically people experience a sense of who they are as God or Christ, or as the energy of Christ. Many people, including myself, get a tremendous sense of expansion because it does actually expand you; it increases the distance between the electron and the atom.

The increased awareness and sense of self that I experienced have stayed with me. Some days I'm more conscious of my connection to Source, or God, or All That Is. When that sense wanes, a few minutes of meditation will bring it back, and it will usually last all day long. In this world we live in there's a lot of stress, a lot of strain, a lot of interference coming from all kinds of energy sources: people, cars, buildings, whatever. Most of that interferes with our sense of who we are and our sense of connection, and it does with mine too. But now, when I notice the lack of that connection, I can re-establish it quite readily by closing my eyes and doing a short meditation.

This truly is the most powerful process I have experienced, and I've spent a decade seeking powerful tools: those that will enhance my growth and the growth of others. There are a lot of them talked about, but most come up short. They're an interesting, fun process, but they don't live up to their billing, so to speak. The Mouth of God process does live up to its billing, and is certainly more impactful than anything I have found on this planet -- and I've been all over this planet seeking those processes that are very powerful and growth-enhancing. Nothing in my experience has been as powerful as the Mouth of God process.

Scott: I believe that the Harmonic Convergence was when the energies of Source really began to be grounded upon the earth.

Richard: That's true. It was perhaps the first significant grounding of the energy of Source onto Earth. Without that influx of energy, the planet probably would have died. I mean, it was at a crossroads.

Scott: Do you think that the Mouth of God activation being available now is a furthermanifestation of the energies of Source?

Richard: Yes. And even more, it's a way of accelerating that is sorely needed, because we have decelerated for centuries. This was brought to the planet for people to use, to experience. It's an ancient system. In fact, it's part of what masters call the Sidhis. The Sidhis are some of the highest forms of spiritual experiences you can have, and this is part of that. It was lost and was not taught, prior to Lorenzo’s receiving the process and passing it on today.

Scott: Would you describe the experience as opening the Mouth of God within you so thatyou may speak as God, or as opening the Mouth of God within yourself so that you mayhear God?

Richard: Opening the Mouth of God opens what Lorenzo calls the transcendental dialogue, which means the information that comes doesn't always come as words but as a feeling sense: a knowing or intuition. Since the Mouth of God sits just above the throat chakra, it definitely enhances the clarity of your own speaking about matters of truth or spiritual wisdom, but it's more related to hearing and listening, sensing and knowing.

Scott: Opening the lines of communication between you and Source?

Richard: Right. It will change the way you speak to some degree, however -- maybe to a large degree. As the humans on the planet have evolved, they're able to take on higher energies and do more. I don't think that ten years ago anybody could have actually done this -- or if they did, it would probably have been so mind-blowing and destabilizing that it would take months to recover. Now we're given this process that is more evolutionary, higher if you will, or more advanced, with which we can work.

Scott: If you could say only one thing about this process, what would that be?

Richard: Activating the Mouth of God will change your life in some way. This can appear somewhat troublesome at times, because humans resist change. This will change who you are, what you are, and the way you see yourself. It will change the way you see the universe. In that respect, the change can be troublesome. On the other hand, we all live with change; there is no status quo. Form is forever changing, so if you're here in physical form, you're in a state of change. This is a planet of duality, or polarity. We shift and change between polar opposites. Those opposites may not be good and evil -- that's a judgment -- but there is light and dark...perhaps.

After having experienced the Mouth of God process myself, I can attest to the truth of what Richard claims. I have felt considerably less weighed down by this body. I believe this is the expansion of which Richard speaks. More notably, the connection it establishes with a larger part of myself has remained with me to the extent that since undergoing the process, any time fear or worry have raised their ugly heads in my mind I have not fallen prey to their temptation. There has definitely been a shift in my awareness, but the effects have been anything but subtle. The best description I can muster is that as I go through my day I feel the truth, "'God is with us." I feel as if Richard has opened a space inside of me that is still and silent -- a quiet, light place where divinity dwells. Stranger still, I sense that my experience in that space thus far is only a beginning.

Miraculous Healing

Miraculous Healing
An Introduction to the Book...

A Course in Miracles says, “All disease is of the mind.” Notice it doesn’t say some disease, it says all disease. This concept may seem foreign to you, especially if you think that modern medicine has the answers. You would think after spending billions of dollars on medical research, they would have discovered a cure for cancer and other life-threatening diseases. But, they still don’t have a clue about how to cure cancer or any other major diseases. I can hear you say, “What about all of the marvelous advances in medicine we are being told about?” They are pure fiction.

If you look deeply into what has actually happened, and not just what the medical community is saying, you will find that the statistics tell a very different story. The survival rate for cancer patients in the last fifty years has changed very little. Five percent is all. Those marvelous advances don’t actually exist. Think about this. Medicine is a trillion dollar business in the United States alone. If they magically came up with a cure for cancer and other major diseases, it would put them out of business. So, what is the incentive to find a cure for cancer and other life-threatening diseases? There aren’t any.

Is there a conspiracy to not find a cure? Frankly, I don’t know. Modern medicine, like any bureaucracy, has developed a collective autocratic ego structure that resists change, at all costs. This is not unusual; all entrenched bureaucratic systems resist new ideas. Change is abhorrent to ego, especially the collective ego; this is not a small matter. Ego’s resistance can be as deadly as any disease. Throughout the book, I will talk a lot about how to cope with ego’s resistance to change.

Over 500,000 people die of cancer every year in the United States alone. Worldwide, millions die every year for the same reason—collective ignorance. The real cause of disease is ignored by medicine. You may be wondering what makes me think I have the answer to curing disease. Well, I do, and it’s right here in this book. The solution is so simple, it boggles the mind. Having said that, there are, of course, obstacles and pitfalls, but once you have the complete picture, you will know how to navigate around them.

I knew intuitively, when I read The Course many years ago, that when it said “All disease is of the mind,” it was true. But, I also realized because of the culture’s belief in medical science, I would have to wait for proof from the scientific community, before people would take what The Course said, seriously. Little did I know at the time, it would take a quarter of a century for biological research to validate what it says. The Course doesn’t say how the mind creates disease or how to cure disease. I was on my own in that regard. Quite by accident, I developed a procedure for engaging the mind’s ability to heal the body. With a little coaching, you can actually heal yourself. In fact, one of the key elements in the new healing paradigm being developed with the body is taking responsibility for your own healing.

Recently, the scientific evidence I was waiting for showed up in the form of a book by Bruce Lipton, entitled, The Biology of Belief. He has a Ph.D. and is a cell biologist. His credentials are impeccable. Most people would probably rather turn their health over to a doctor. But for the thousands of people who die of cancer every year in the United States who did just that, it didn’t turn out very well. They suffered and died in agony, because of the barbaric procedures being used by modern medicine to treat cancer. Radiation and chemotherapy are still the mainstays for treating cancer. You can do your own research on the side effects and effectiveness of radiation and chemotherapy, by looking it up on The Web. You will be stunned by what you find.

Medical treatments kill thousands of people every year. Of course, you never hear about it, because the medical community doesn’t want you to know about them. The statistics around how many people die from cancer treatments are vague, especially around radiation and chemotherapy. Those procedures don’t discriminate; they kill the healthy cells right along with the cancer cells. People don’t always die from chemo and radiation, they die from complications. Chemo and radiation attack the organs of the body and can cause organ failure. So, the medical records show you died of liver or kidney failure.

Modern biology has caught up with A Course in Miracles, yet medicine still clings to its traditional approach to treating disease. How bad is it? Consider this. Almost all drugs treat symptoms only. They don’t do anything about curing the disease. Despite the twentieth century’s far-reaching discoveries about the mind, medicine has been reluctant to apply them to understanding cancer and other diseases. The pharmaceutical companies continue to tout the fabulous benefits of the drugs they produce. They are some of the largest businesses in the world and they are very influential and profitable. The FDA is responsible for approving the drugs that pharmaceutical companies produce, but they have turned a blind eye to the fact that the drugs they approve don’t actually cure disease. The system is corrupt.

The mind is divided into the conscious and unconscious (subconscious) minds. The conscious mind is the one you use to decide where you are going for lunch or to solve your day-to-day problems. It is the thinking mind. It can be monitored and controlled. The unconscious mind is not so easily controlled. It is a major factor in disease. The content of the unconscious mind plays over and over and is largely outside of conscious control. It puts you on auto pilot, for better or for worse. It stores the conditioning, beliefs, and thought forms that create what you experience, including disease. But, the unconscious mind can be accessed and the content changed. It is often dominated by compulsive negative thinking. Thought plays an important part in your body’s chemistry. The role that mind and thought plays has been completely ignored by modern medical science, yet it is one of the major factors in disease. It is part of the disease equation.

A pivotal chapter is dedicated to clearing the unconscious mind of emotional trauma and thought forms. Most people are very reluctant to explore the content of their unconscious mind, but when they are diagnosed with a life-threatening disease like cancer, it then becomes a matter of survival. Obviously, at that point, you are faced with a choice. You can explore the depths of your unconscious mind—or not.

No one escapes some emotional trauma. As a child you didn’t know how to deal with strong emotions, so you ignored and suppressed them. The residue from that trauma is still in your unconscious mind, stored as thought forms and energy patterns. A young child has very slow brainwave activity. They are in Delta and Theta brainwaves until they are about six years old. A child in Delta or Theta brainwaves is unable to discriminate, so whatever they experience, becomes their reality.

Your life is a direct reflection of the content of your unconscious mind and the beliefs contained within it. Beliefs can have positive or negative affects on your body chemistry. Disease is the result of the message being sent to your genes by your unconscious mind. Changing your mind can alter your genes. Contemporary biological research confirms that genes can be reprogrammed, even after they have mutated, and create disease.

Living in the twenty-first century, with all of the technology and modern conveniences, life should be easier. Still, for many, there is a gradual erosion of the quality of their lives. When you become ill, that erosion accelerates. Disease is a psychological event, so whatever has gone wrong in your body begins in your mind. What the mind creates, it can UN-create.

Your doctor will probably try to discourage you from the idea that disease is a product of the mind. The medical community is no closer to curing cancer and other life-threatening diseases than they were fifty years ago. Your doctor either doesn’t know the truth, or he is in denial. To admit to the truth might put him out of business.

You may think you have come to this book by accident or sheer coincidence. Let me suggest it is the unseen hand of the universe, leading you to what you need to know in order to heal.

The Mind & Healing Illness
An Interview with Richard Doré
By
Mary Carlson

For the past three decades, Richard Dupuis-Dore has devoted his life to helping people understand their True nature. At home and abroad, he has provided group workshops and personal consultations to people seeking growth and healing.

His words are simple, and his understanding is unquestionable. These qualities are most apparent in his fourth book, Miraculous Healing. The book is brand new, but its message is eternal. The Truth and healing are simple and available to us all.

He is also the author of Creating Your Light Body, Ancient Wisdom, and From the Mouth of God. He lectures and teaches healing throughout the United States, Canada and internationally.

Your book starts out with the question: What are you going to do when your doctor gives up on you and sends you home to die? Isn’t this called the kiss of death?

RD: Actually, the kiss of death is when your doctor says you only have a short time left to live and then sends you home to die. Every year, here in the United States, over 500,000 people die of cancer, yet in spite of such a dire statistic and the doctor’s prognosis, many people survive it through sheer determination and the mind’s will to live. The book is about how and why those people survive.

Where did the inspiration to write this book come from, and why did you decide to write it?

RD: Early one morning just before I woke up, the Universe/God came to me and suggested that I write the book and open a healing center.

What has been your greatest motivation in sharing this information?

RD: The knowledge that every year here in the United States, thousands of people die needlessly from cancer and other diseases, and that 90 percent of all prescription drugs and all medical procedures treat symptoms only. When I came across these alarming statistics, I wanted to break through the myth that modern medicine actually cures disease. Again, all medical procedures treat symptoms only. So, even though the symptoms may go away, the disease returns sooner or later—usually sooner.

Must a reader be ill in order to benefit from the information in Miraculous Healing?

RD: Absolutely not. In fact, the best time to read it is before a disease occurs. Anyone with a life-threatening disease, i.e., cancer, diabetes, heart trouble, autoimmune disease or any others, will benefit from the information. The book offers its readers a viable alternative to the toxic life-threatening procedures used by modern medicine to treat cancer and other diseases.

You talk about the placebo effect. Tell me about that.

RD: Clinical trials show that 40 percent of all healing is the result of the placebo effect. This is a powerful indication of the mind’s ability to heal the body, and how belief can cause a positive or negative outcome.

What did you mean when you said in the book, that modern biology has caught up with A Course in Miracles?

RD: A Course in Miracles was published in 1976 by Helen Schucman and William Thetford, professors of medical psychology at Columbia University. It says, that “all disease is of the mind.” In his bestselling book, The Biology of Belief, published in 2005, Bruce Lipton, Ph.D., cell biologist and teacher at Stanford Medical School, talks about how the subconscious mind affects cell biology and creates disease. He says that the body attacks itself because of our subconscious thoughts and beliefs. Why modern medicine has refused to look at the role that mind plays in disease is puzzling.
What do you believe are the main triggers that allow life-threatening diseases to take hold in the body?

RD: Stress is probably the number one trigger, but suppressed feelings are also one of the major causes. Stress comes from thought, and of course, thought comes from mind. Stress plays a major part in disease because it suppresses the immune system. You have cancer cells, pathogens, viruses, and bacteria in your body all of the time and when your immune system is suppressed, they take over and cause disease.

What do you suggest for relieving stress and strengthening the immune system?

RD: One of the best ways to release stress and strengthen the immune system is to practice meditation; you don’t have to do a lot of meditation, just a few minutes per day is adequate. If you have cancer, I suggest you join a support group, one where you can learn to safely express your feelings and explore your subconscious mind.

Your book touches on the subject of reincarnation. Is it necessary to believe in reincarnation for your healing techniques to work?

RD: Absolutely not. I share some of my life experiences to show people that the potential for life goes far beyond our rigid belief systems. Healing is available to anyone who surrenders to the body’s healing process.

What did you find to be your greatest challenge in writing this book?

RD: Wading through the mountains of statistics and data and making the book readable. I also had to edit the data down to something simple and easily understood by the reader.

In Miraculous Healing, you talk a lot about ego. Why is it so important to understand ego?

RD: Ego can be diabolical when it comes to healing. One of the problems you face when deciding to heal is ego’s resistance to change. It is the guardian of the status quo and no matter how sick you become, it will resist change. Many people derive their sense of identify from being sick and if you become chronically ill, it’s likely you are identified with your illness. In this case, ego will staunchly defend its territory. Awareness is the key to clearing resistance. Once you become aware of your resistance, it will begin to diminish. Negative thought forms cannot persist in the light of awareness.

Tell me about your process for helping people to heal.

RD: I use a three-pronged approach. I start by helping those I am working with explore their feelings. For some, this is very difficult, so I may skip this step; however, it is very effective. The second part is to explore and clear the subconscious mind of thought forms, patterns, and beliefs that create disease. The third component is to transmute the disease energetically. I do this by transmitting the energy of my “light body,” into the disease. This raises the frequency of the disease and allows the body to heal. These techniques are very effective and can be learned and used by anyone who wants to do self-healing.

I hear that you can actually do your work over the phone. Is that right?

RD: Yes. I have worked with people all over the world by phone. People often wonder how that works, but in quantum physics they say that time and space are an illusion and don’t actually exist. That has certainly been my experience. What I do, works just as well over the phone as it does in person.

Of the books you have you written, which one is your favorite?

RD: I have enjoyed writing them all, but of course, the current one is my favorite. It deals with a topic that simply needs to be talked about and presented to the public.

What is the most important thing you want your readers to take away from this book?
RD: That a viable alternative exists, and you don’t have to suffer in order to be cured. Modern medicine ignores the real cause of disease—the mind. The mind creates disease and it can cure disease. If you can’t totally accept this idea, that’s OK. The techniques I present will work for you anyway.

Is there anything more you would like to say to your readers?

RD: Yes. I want to urge everyone to take responsibility for their own healing. I am not saying that you should never see a doctor again; they do have their role, especially when there is a crisis like a life-threatening accident. However, the medical establishment resists change and with 1.3 trillion dollars being spent in hospitals and on medical procedures every year in the U.S., there isn’t much incentive for it to alter its course.
